The Merrimack Alternative High School
A powerful dropout prevention programs that prepares students to return to public school settings and/or provides them with the necessary education to attain successful post-graduation opportunities. The Merrimack School 45-Day Assessment Program
Provides an environment within which psychosocial needs are assessed in order to develop a plan of intervention for schools, while identifying therapeutic needs relative to each student. Complete formal and informal assessments are conducted and a written report is presented at the termination team meeting.    more ..

The Merrimack Alternative Middle School
A powerful dropout prevention program that assists younger adolescents in achieving academic success and fostering their social-emotional well-being while addressing the issues that have led to being placed out of their sending town. The Merrimack Middle School utilizes both a behavior modification program and Reality Therapy model to address emotional and behavioral needs. Individual plans for students are also developed to address specific disabilities/diagnoses.    more ..

The Merrimack Vocational High School
This program develops transitional skills and provides a high school setting for alternative education students who are interested in gaining vocational training in addition to academics. This program utilizes concepts based on a Reality Therapy model that holds students responsible for their actions through natural consequences and peer group feedback.    more ..

The School to Work Program
This program provides students transitional skills necessary for gainful employment and independent life management. It is a high school program with on the job training at community-based businesses. The goal of the program is to provide students with training opportunities within their field of interest that will prepare them for skilled or semi-skilled employment.    more ..

The Center for Occupational Awareness and Placement (C.O.A.P.)
Is a high school vocational and functional academic program for students ages 14-22 with mild to moderate cognitive disabilities. Through community-based employment opportunities, classroom-based academic activities and community-based applied academic activities, students learn functional social, life, academic and work adjustment skills.    more ..

Supported C.O.A.P. (S.C.O.A.P.)
Provides the same academic and vocational opportunities as C.O.A.P. with a lower staff to student ratio to accommodate students who need more significant assistance/supervision.    more ..

The Partners in Advancing Children’s Education (PACE) Program
Provides intensive home-based services to children, ages 3-11, who demonstrate difficulties with communication, socialization, sensory integration and/or behavior. Teaching techniques vary according to the needs of the child, but may include one or more of a combination of the following.    more ..

The Home/School Facilitator Program
Provide comprehensive support, education and encouragement to families of children, ages 3-11, with special needs. The emphasis is on implementing and modeling the child’s individual educational curriculum into the home, as well as providing a communication link between the school program and home.    more ..

The Elementary Behavioral School
Provides a therapeutic elementary day school for students in grades K - 6 with emotional, behavioral, and social adjustment difficulties which prevent them from making adequate progress in a traditional elementary school setting.    more ..

Pervasive Developmental Disorder Programs (PDD)
Provides services to students ages 3-14 and grades pre-K through eight. The goal of these programs is to increase and maximize the independent functioning of children on the Autism spectrum. These programs utilize an eclectic individualized teaching approach in order to prepare students to return to their local schools with the necessary support.    more ..
